Important Websites

The internet is a beautiful place. It’s full of degenerate stuff I don’t feel like talking about, but it’s also full of websites that give unique insights into other people’s lives. Sometimes, these snippets are absurd and hilarious.

I used to spend a lot of time on StumbleUpon as a kid, and I’d find a lot of really cool blogs and webpages. It saddens me to see that it’s just full of Reddit and Twitter posts and whatnot.

I noticed that I interact with the internet very differently than I did back then, and I’ve noticed this with my younger cousins and relatives too. We spend a lot of time getting sucked into these giant clouds of social media or sites like YouTube designed to be addictive — I’ve definitely slipped down a several-hour YouTube spree many a time before.

Even when I look up a recipe or a tutorial on how to crochet or something like that, I feel like I get results for the same few websites. I miss seeing what different people have to say and share with the world, and it feels like it’s harder and harder to find that kind of content.

I found out about Wiby when I was browsing a basket-weaving forum a few months ago. Every now and then, I use it to surf the web, and I sometimes find hidden gems that I want to share with people. These are compiled in no particular order. I take no credit for any of this content.

Here are some other absurd and/or interesting things I’ve found on the internet.
